Excellent field guide
This is what a field guide should be, clear, concise, and easy to use. My wife who is just starting to tune in to nature loves it. She was up to speed in 10 minutes and loving it from then on.

A must-have tracking classic
When I was a kid running a trapline in northern Michigan, this was the book I carried in my rucksack.Today, more than 35 years later, I've written 2 books of my own on the subject of tracking wildlife, but this book is still on my bookshelf.Olas Murie was a true American pioneer who led the way into an area where no one else had gone before him.He established the first standards, and while modern genetic and other scientific techniques have increased our knowledge of wildlife manifold over what was known in Murie's day, it was he who laid the foundation on which the rest of us build. This book is a must-have for every tracker's library.

Good and comprehensive guide, a little difficult
It is a good and comprehensive guide, it has a lot of animal tracks, I found it a good and complete guide, but honestly sometimes I had a lot of difficult tryng to find some kind of tracks that I found.Read more

Skimpy, but light
This field guide is not a book.It is a laminated, 1 piece, 6-fold brochure.There are 54 mammal tracks and pictures (including a Virginia opossum and a nine-banded armadillo), 18 bird tracks (no pictures here), 10 diagrams of sign (like a beaver cutting), and 11 diagrams of scat (you know what I mean).The lack of pictures of the birds is puzzling, as you are much more likely to see a pigeon or a dark-eyed junco than a mountain lion.
Foldout - not a Book
Read the description carefully before you purchase. This is NOT a book or paperback. It is a 12 page foldout (including the front cover) .... not exactly what I expected.

Short & to the point
This is a good purchase. Of course you can buy larger books on tracks but this is just as good, and convenient to carry. You will find it all, well almost. this fold-out will make you want to live outdoors and track things all day long! so quit your job now, and get started, Pepe'! ... Read more
